For the 2nd year running Rock Diabetes is back. Last year’s gig was an amazing success raising over £6000 for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). This year we are upping the bar.
We have a bigger venue, bigger bands and a massive line up, spread over two days and two stages at the Trowbridge Civic Centre on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th November 2013.
We are excited about our amazing line up of bands that include the top talent from the local area and some of the best up-and-coming bands which have played most other big festivals this summer.
We have managed to attract some big names too, indicating that this festival is being taken seriously as a major event in the festival calendar. Headlining bands such as Breed 77, the hard rock act from Gibraltar and London, who have been touring hard this year off the back of their new album “Evil Inside” . Local hero, Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper, (many of you “new wave of British heavy metal “ fans will remember Steve’s amazing vocal talents from their hit song “See you hell” in the 80’s) will also be headlining.
We have put together a bill of 32 bands, that cover a huge cross section of rock and heavy metal styles ensuring there is something for everyone’s taste. We have been very lucky to have been inundated with applications from bands all over the country wanting to play at the festival. Because of this we have already started putting together the bill for next year’s festival! Rock Diabetes is on the festival map and reaching new heights . A great event for the town of Trowbridge and music fans alike. So come along and support us and a wealth of local music talent! raising much needed funds for the charity that researches into a cure for this widespread disease that effect many peoples’ lives.
The fun kicks off on Saturday 23rd November, with the doors opening at 1pm, with live music from 2pm until late. Then it continues at the same time on Sunday 24th.
Tickets are available from the Civic centre box office, the tourist information centre, and online from the Civics’ website. They are £15 per day or £25 for a weekend ticket.
This is a family festival, so children under 12 are welcome free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
